Q: What were you doing before Interapt?
A: I was a substitute teacher for all ages and populations including special ed. My favorite group were my 7th and 8th grade Chemistry students. It was so much fun making learning interactive for them. GO EGP!
Q: What brought you to Interapt?
A: During the pandemic, I realized I needed to pivot into a new career. I spent a lot of time looking into different tech careers. One day an old high school teacher, Scott Steward, mentioned the Interapt program and how it was a good way to enter into the tech space. I applied immediately and I’ve been here ever since!
Q: How has your career grown since starting at Interapt?
A: My career has grown immensely! It’s amazing to see what I have learned in simply a few months.
Q: What do you like about working at Interapt?
A: I love that everyone encourages you to learn! It’s a safe space to ask questions, make mistakes, and be challenged. Most of all I love the impact that my work has on a day to day basis.
Q: What would you share with someone interested in Interapt’s training programs?
A: Whatever you decide to pursue, understand that there will be challenges. This will be no different but you can make it through. Do it when it’s easy and do it when you’re scared. Don’t be afraid to ask questions because everyone has been there and don’t forget to network. Choose you, remember why you started and never quit!
Q: What would you like to share about yourself (family, pets, fun facts, hobbies, etc.)
A: For several years, I’ve dabbed in several art forms, but photography will always have my heart!!
Q: What hashtag(s) describe your personality best?
A: #Disruptor
