Interapt, a Kentucky-based software and digital workforce development company, is bringing training and opportunity to Cincinnati, OH, through a partnership with Fifth Third Bank.

Beginning June 20, 2022, Interapt will launch a FREE 12-week COBOL Mainframe Programming training cohort for residents in the Metro Cincinnati area. Graduates of the program will be ready to launch a new career as an entry-level, mainframe Jr. COBOL developer. Training classes will run full-time, Monday through Friday for 8 hours a day. Students can expect 1 – 3 hours of homework each night. The class will hold a maximum of 10 students. At least half of the graduates will enter Interapt’s apprenticeship program with Fifth Third Bank. Students will graduate with an understanding of the mainframe’s role in the global economy, a solid base of fundamental programming knowledge, and hands-on experience in COBOL using the basic ISPF interface, VS Code, and Eclipse-based interfaces. Additionally, they will have knowledge of how to create, compile, execute and debug COBOL programs using JCL, SDSF, and other mainframe-related tools
If interested in participating in this development opportunity, candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check and drug screen prior to the course and commit to the full 12 weeks of training.
* This opportunity is open to candidates residing within the Metro Cincinnati, OH area only. While the 12-week training program is virtual, candidates accepting the full-time opportunity must be willing to work onsite in the downtown Cincinnati, OH location.
* You must be at least 18 years of age.
* You must have a High School Diploma or its equivalent.
* You must be authorized to work in the United States.
* All applicants accepted into the program will be required to pass a background check and drug screening.
