“My life has taken off. I went from being unable to provide for my family, to being able to do that and so much more. Since graduating from the program, I’ve been moving forward. I’ve been experiencing so much, learning so much, and meeting so many amazing people along the way.”

Trentoria was a stay-at-home mom looking for work to support her family. She was actively applying for roles, no opportunities seemed to be playing out. Feeling stuck, Trentoria decided to reactivate her Facebook page to see if she could find anything in various employment groups on Facebook. The first post she saw was from a woman at City of Refuge, outlining a career development opportunity in IT. She’d always been interested in the Tech field, so Trentoria decided to reach out to learn more. Within the same day, she was interviewed – one week later, she’d been accepted into Interapt’s Atlanta Fullstack Development Cohort.

Over the course of the 6-month program, Trentoria and her peers learned and refined in-demand tech skills to prepare them for a career in IT. Upon graduation, Trentoria joined Interapt as an apprentice, beginning a year-long period of on-the-job learning alongside other graduates and a dedicated mentor. She excelled, and was chosen for placement on a project with one of pur partners. She remained with them for some time before moving to a new project, where she developed additional skill sets and management experience.
